Edson Natale - Nina Maika

Nina Maika brings traditional Brazilian acoustic music into contact with ambient electronics, while keeping a clear sense of song. Edson Natale's 1990 album features Mitar Subotić, also known as Rex Ilusivii, alongside Brazilian instrumentalists and vocalists.

The nine-track programme includes Viajante, Toque De Fada and the title piece, moving through to Par De Asas at the close. This New Dawn reissue presents the album in a gatefold sleeve containing the original Portuguese lyrics and liner notes. Its combination of acoustic playing, electronic space and pop sensibility gives the record an identity that crosses familiar genre boundaries.
