El Combo Batanga - Spanish Dogs

Rooted in Afro-Cuban rhythm and Latin funk, powerhouse collective El Combo Batanga channel timba, soul and bogaloo in their music, and it is all rooted in their own heritage, Afro-Cuban rhythm and Latin funk. The project grew out of Havana before taking shape in Madrid, where vocalist Ale Gutierrez became a central figure after his time with Habana Abierta. Weekly jam sessions at La Negra Tomasa brought together musicians who would later form Los Chocolatinos while laying the groundwork for this album, El Combo Batanga. It is the sound of them in full force with brass and keys, blazing hot rhythms and dense percussive workouts that collide in thrilling ways.
