Eunice Collins - At The Hotel

Eunice Collins’ 'At The Hotel' first appeared on Chicago’s small Mod-Art label in 1974. Long difficult to find, the recording reached later listeners through sampling and renewed interest from soul collectors. This reissue returns it to the Mod-Art imprint, pairing Part 1 with Part 2 on a 7-inch. The reverse offers the flute-led instrumental counterpart, giving another perspective on the arrangement behind the vocal. Rather than relying on its former rarity or collectors’ prices, the appeal is in that distinctive pairing: a modern-soul song and an instrumental version with a character of its own.
