About this release
Sassy J’s Patchwork Sampler pairs Georgia Anne Muldrow and Build An Ark on a Rush Hour 7-inch. Muldrow’s Always returns from the Patchwork compilation, bringing its future-soul sound to the single’s first side. The reverse features the Los Angeles jazz group Build An Ark with a special guest, heard in Club Diego’s remix of FREEDOM live. Diego Gaeta’s short version gives the performance a more rhythm-led treatment, providing a contrasting companion to Always. The two selections connect the soul and jazz strands running through Sassy J’s wider Patchwork project.
Format: 7-inch vinyl sampler
