Gradient - Random Layers

Gradient returns to Alt Dub with Random Layers, an EP built from a deliberately restrained palette of kick, bass, chords and texture. The tracks develop through small shifts in rhythm and carefully introduced layers, allowing depth and space to emerge gradually. Three originals — Layer One, Layer Two and Layer Three — explore this patient approach to dub techno, with atmosphere coming from the relationships between a few well-placed sounds.

The record also features cv313’s dub of Layer Two, bringing another perspective from the Echospace Detroit project to the B-side. It is a fitting addition to an EP concerned with detail, repetition and the space around the groove. AD010 is presented as a four-track 12-inch on coloured vinyl.
