About this release
Hector Rivera’s At The Party and Do It To Me capture the meeting of Latin rhythm and soul in the New York boogaloo scene. Both songs were taken from his debut album, At The Party With Hector Rivera, originally released by Barry Records in 1966. The arrangements connect cha-cha influences with dance-oriented grooves, placing Rivera’s work within the crossover sound of the period. Demon Records Singles Club brings the two selections together on this seven-inch, giving each its own side. Phil Kinrade remastered the recordings for the release, which is presented in a discobag sleeve.
