Influenza Prods. - Mémoire

Mémoire collects recordings by Influenza Prods., the Italian duo of Bruno De Angelis and Giovanna Gulinello. After meeting in London, they moved to Rome in 1981 and began building songs by copying between cassette machines, adding guitar, bass, drum machine and synthesiser as they went. Television dialogue and household objects also found their way into the music. Their handmade tapes circulated through the mail-art and tape-trading networks of the early 1980s. Left Ear’s thirteen-track LP brings that resourceful home-recorded work together, preserving a mixture of experimental electronics, spare song forms and the character of the equipment used.
