Isaiah Collier & The Chosen Few explore spiritual jazz on Cosmic Transitions, a five-part suite recorded at Van Gelder Studio on John Coltrane's birthday, 23 September 2020. The Chicago saxophonist leads a quartet with pianist Mike King, bassist Jeremiah Hunt and drummer Michael Shekwoaga Ode, drawing on the searching spirit of 1960s jazz while giving each player room to shape the music.

An opening Invocation leads into Forgiveness, Humility, Understanding and Truth & Guidance before the closing Mercury's Retrograde. The movements form a connected work, with Collier's soprano and tenor saxophones set against piano, upright bass and forceful drumming. Released by Division 81 Records, the double LP presents the suite across four sides.
