Janko Nilovic & The Soul Surfers - Maze Of Sounds

Janko Nilovic’s Maze Of Sounds joins the library-music composer with The Soul Surfers, bringing written arrangements into contact with the band’s analogue soul and funk. After exchanging scores, they developed the material together at Paris’s CBE studio, where Nilovic returned to a familiar Hammond organ and Leslie speaker. His keyboards guide a record that also makes room for strings, choir, guitar and Fender Rhodes. The title piece grew from an improvisation captured in a single take. Across eight tracks, the collaboration draws on Nilovic’s cinematic sense of melody and the group’s live rhythmic interplay.
