Guy places Jayda G’s voice and songwriting at the centre of an album built around recordings of her late father, William Richard Guy. Co-produced with Jack Peñate, it connects house, disco, R&B and soul with a family history told through archival speech and personal lyrics. The songs follow experiences of migration, grief and resilience, while keeping an openness to the dancefloor. Contributors include Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Ed Thomas. This Ninja Tune LP is made from recycled vinyl and offcuts, so its colour varies, and is housed in a gatefold sleeve with a printed inner.
