Jimmy Ross - First True Love Affair

Jimmy Ross's First True Love Affair brings together the warmth of disco and the synth-driven pulse of early-eighties boogie. First released in 1981, the song was written by Ross, also known as Mel Turner, with Luciano Ninzatti and Stefano Pulga. Its combination of a strong vocal hook and a steady dancefloor groove has made it an enduring part of disco selections.

This Full Time Production 12-inch pairs Larry Levan's remix with the original version, putting two approaches to the same song on opposite sides. Levan's treatment adds a dubby, spacious feel, while the original keeps the focus on the song itself. A useful pairing for anyone exploring the links between Italian disco production and New York club culture.
