About this release
JKriv's Something Else EP combines three original songs with an Alton Miller remix, bringing several Brooklyn vocalists into his funk, soul and house arrangements. Brandon Markell Holmes sings over the title track's playful bass line, while Nic Hanson and Phenomenal Handclap Band join the live instrumentation of Try Again. Toribio supplies layered vocals for Shoulda Been Me, a relaxed boogie piece built around weighty bass, percussion and synthesizers. Miller's remix gives that song a deeper house setting, with Rhodes chords moving above steady drums. This Razor-N-Tape Reserve 12-inch collects the four vinyl tracks.
