About this release
A La Sala returns Khruangbin to the interplay of its core trio: bassist Laura Lee Ochoa, drummer Donald Johnson and guitarist Mark Speer. Made with longtime engineer Steve Christensen and minimal overdubs, the 2024 album draws its relaxed feel from bass, drums and reverb-rich guitar lines. Fifteen Fifty-Three brings a film-score influence, Pon Pón leans towards disco, and Farolim De Felgueiras adds ambient textures. A Love International and the closing Les Petits Gris sit within a twelve-track sequence that favours space and detail. This Dead Oceans LP presents the album on standard black vinyl.
