About this release
La Tène’s Abandonnée / Maléja expands the trio’s amplified hurdy-gurdy, harmonium and percussion into two contrasting collaborations. Jacques Puech and Louis Jacques add cabrettes and bagpipes on the first record, while Guilhem Lacroux’s 12-string guitar and Jérémie Sauvage’s electric bass join the group on the second. Four extended pieces stretch across one side each, connecting traditional dance music with persistent repetition and drone. Recorded at INSUB studio in Geneva, the sessions retain the physical pulse of folk music while pushing the instruments towards denser, overlapping textures. This double LP presents all four pieces, from “L’Abandonnée” to “Danse De L’Ortha”.
