About this release
Midnight On Rainbow Road pairs Leon Vynehall's original recording with a Beat Edit that gives its ambient arrangement a more explicit rhythm. The original appeared on Gerd Janson's second Musik For Autobahns compilation, with guitar and piano textures creating a sense of movement without a full drum pattern. The A-side edit adds a beat and hi-hat while retaining the melody and atmosphere; the original occupies the reverse. Released by Rush Hour, this two-track 12-inch offers both approaches to the same piece, connecting its quieter, road-inspired setting with a version suited to a slower club sequence.
