About this release
Tuff Cut 03 brings together three Late Nite Tuff Guy reworks drawn from disco, funk and soul recordings. Holiday takes Change's A Lover's Holiday as its starting point, extending the vocal hooks and groove across the first side. I Love Ya turns to Rufus featuring Chaka Khan's You Got The Love, while Lovely Day reshapes Bill Withers' song with a longer opening and closing section and added weight in the drums. The twelve-inch moves from Change's disco arrangement to a slower funk feel and Withers' sustained vocal melody, presenting three different sources through LNTG's edit approach.
