About this release
Tuff Cut #8 gives four familiar recordings new club arrangements through Late Nite Tuff Guy's edits. Go For That reworks Hall & Oates on the first side, followed by Heard It, a house-oriented treatment of Marvin Gaye. Fleetwood Mac's Dreams takes the reverse into a warmer, rolling groove, before Startin' Somethin' turns to Michael Jackson. The four-track twelve-inch connects the source recordings' vocals and melodies with looping, dancefloor-focused production. With two tracks on each side, the release brings pop, soul and disco material into the Tuff Cut series while keeping each edit's own musical character.
