About this release
Mamacita and Persona RS reinterpret Jamie Principle and Frankie Knuckles’s “Your Love” as “Tu Amor”, a Spanish-language house recording made in Santiago. First released digitally in 2012, it pairs Carolina Vallejos’s vocals with squelching synthesizers and an intentionally simple, homemade production. The recording reflects the pair’s shared interest in early Chicago house and making dance music in Spanish. For its first vinyl release, É Soul Cultura pairs the original with a longer re-edit by Luke Una and Luke Solomon. Their version extends the arrangement and emphasizes its unusual synth lines while retaining the character of the original.
