About this release
Maya Ongaku bring a new rhythmic focus to Electronic Phantoms, pairing the psychedelic atmosphere of their debut with synthesizers and drum machines. The Japanese trio developed this approach while touring Europe and Japan, rearranging their songs around electronic rhythms and discovering a stronger pull towards the dancefloor.
Across six tracks, guitar, bass and woodwinds meet machine-generated grooves. “Iyo no Hito”, “Anoyo Drive” and “Love with Phantom” lead into the three-part “Meiso Ongaku” sequence, connecting the group’s exploratory playing with a more dance-oriented sound. Released by Guruguru Brain as a vinyl EP.
