Meetsysteem / Victor De Roo - WAS HET MAAR EENS NIET ZO’N FEEST

After Vraag Je Af and Runner Van De Zaak, Ricky Cherim and Victor De Roo expand their partnership into a six-track EP. Cherim, recording as Meetsysteem, supplies the words and voice, while De Roo handles production.

The songs move through paranoia, social anxiety, depression, regret and love, with the Roland 909 providing a thread through the changing arrangements. Here the drum machine functions as a rhythm box beneath the songs, away from its more familiar techno setting. Released on Kontakt, Was Het Maar Eens Niet Zo'n Feest places the pair's electronic and new-wave approaches in a shared space.
