Mort Garson’s Mother Earth’s Plantasia was conceived as music for plants and the people looking after them. Originally associated with the Mother Earth plant shop in Los Angeles, the album uses the Moog synthesiser to turn that playful premise into ten short instrumental pieces. 'Symphony For A Spider Plant', 'Ode To An African Violet' and 'Music To Soothe The Savage Snake Plant' give a sense of its botanical imagination. Sacred Bones brings the record back to vinyl, preserving an unusual meeting of early electronic composition, domestic listening and the houseplant culture surrounding its original release.
