About this release
My Friend Dario’s ‘Senza Estate’ imagines a Mediterranean holiday through eight tracks inspired by Italian soundtrack composers Piero Piccioni and Piero Umiliani. Catania producer Dario Aiello moves between Balearic rhythms, downtempo passages and electronic dance music, with Darene Obika writing and performing vocals on the title track and ‘What You Need’. ‘Zingarella’ features flute from Mario Filetti and percussion from Davide Santanocito, while Daniele Salamone plays piano on ‘Marittimo’. From the opening ‘Keep On Cruising’ to the closing ‘Acid Panorama’, the album gives the idea of an unattainable summer a musical form. Hell Yeah presents the eight-track programme on vinyl.
