About this release
Night Song brings Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s extraordinary qawwali singing into conversation with Michael Brook’s production and guitar playing. Released in 1996, their collaboration combines devotional intensity with sub-bass, organ, harmonium and atmospheric studio arrangements, moving beyond a conventional live presentation without losing the force of Khan’s voice.
My Heart, My Life, My Comfort Remains and the title track are among eight pieces that define the album’s balance of intimacy and scale. This 30th anniversary edition presents Night Song on rose leaf green vinyl, with a printed inner sleeve, updated liner notes and photographs.
