Orlando Julius With The Heliocentrics - Jaiyede Afro

Orlando Julius revisits songs from his early years on Jaiyede Afro, recorded with The Heliocentrics at their analogue studio in North London. Originally released in 2014, the collaboration connects the Nigerian saxophonist’s Afrobeat and Afro-funk foundations with the London group’s psychedelic arrangements and exploratory playing. Several compositions had never previously been recorded, giving the session the character of a return to unfinished ideas as well as a new partnership. The set also includes their take on James Brown’s In The Middle. This Strut edition presents the nine-track album across two clear vinyl records.
