About this release
Pahua's Habita songs receive two distinct reinterpretations on this Razor-N-Tape seven-inch. Poirier strips Espantapájaros, featuring La Perla, into a hypnotic rhythmic arrangement on the A-side. John Beltran takes Flor De Jazmin, featuring Paz Court, towards a samba-influenced groove with a horn arrangement on the reverse. Pahua is the solo project of Mexican singer, percussionist and producer Paulina Sotomayor, whose music connects electronic production with Latin American folk influences. These remixes draw from her Habita album, bringing its guest vocals and melodies into new dancefloor settings while retaining the character of the two songs.
