About this release
Parbleu’s debut album ‘Danse Cette Zik’ brings disco and funk into contact with jazz fusion, dub and Afrobeat. Conceived by Andrea De Fazio and Andres Balbucea, the group combines sung passages with instrumental arrangements built from guitars, keyboards, bass, drums and percussion. Pianos and guitars move between funk phrases, reggae figures and jazz-rock solos, while synthesizers add an Italo-influenced character. Recorded at West Hill Studio, the seven-track programme moves from the title song through ‘Atlas’ and ‘Soweto’ to ‘Port Royale’. This Happy Island reissue presents the album on a single twelve-inch LP.
