Quintetto X - Senza Paura / Balança Pema

Schema revisits the early sound of Bari’s Fez collective with this Quintetto X 7-inch, the second in a series of three remastered 45s. Led by Nicola Conte in the early 1990s, the scene brought jazz improvisation, club rhythms and Mediterranean influences together, with its earliest recordings appearing through Right Tempo. Senza Paura, featuring Rosalia De Souza, gives the song associated with Ornella Vanoni a setting of subtle jazz harmonies and an easy-moving groove.

On the other side, the group tackles Jorge Ben’s Balança Pema, drawing out its Brazilian rhythm and leaving room for the players to interact. Both performances have been newly remastered from the original masters for this 2026 Schema edition, catalogue SC738.
