About this release
Marea / Tide is the 1984 album by Italian duo Ruins, Alessandro Pizzin and Piergiuseppe Ciranna, developed in collaboration with visual artist Luigi Viola. Conceived within their Sound and Image Research project, the music accompanied exhibitions and performances, linking the duo's experimental electronic approach with Viola's artwork. The original LP contains sixteen short compositions, from Heavenly Tide to Standing Still. Music From Memory's reissue adds a separate 7-inch with four previously unreleased pieces, making a twenty-track vinyl programme in total. The edition also includes a printed insert with updated liner notes and artwork reproduced from the original project.
