About this release
Sandra Sá's Vale Tudo captures the Brazilian boogie and funk sound of 1983, with her vocals supported by musicians including Lincoln Olivetti, Robson Jorge and members of Banda Black Rio. Olivetti's writing, arrangements and playing help shape the album's rhythmic character, from Trem Da Central through Candura and Pela Cidade. Tim Maia joins Sá for the title song, a brisk duet written for the two singers. Slower songs balance those more energetic performances, allowing her voice to move through a wider range of settings. Mr Bongo's MRBLP230NB vinyl edition presents the full ten-track programme across two sides.
