Sharon Forrester - Love Don't Live Here Anymore

Sharon Forrester turns Rose Royce’s 'Love Don’t Live Here Anymore' into a reggae recording produced by Diane Ellis in 1979. Ellis heard the original on the radio and brought in Forrester and Boris Gardiner to realise her idea at Aquarius Studio in Half Way Tree, with guidance from Herman Chin Loy. Freestyle’s reissue presents the extended discomix on 12-inch, backed by a version that brings Dean Fraser’s saxophone to the foreground. The pairing preserves both the vocal performance and the instrumental response, placing a familiar soul song within a lovers-rock setting.
