Shinichi Atobe - Ship-Scope

Ship-Scope introduced Shinichi Atobe on Berlin's Chain Reaction label in 2001, years before his albums for DDS brought his music to a wider audience. This DDS reissue returns to those four early tracks, where dub techno's looping rhythms meet delicate melodies and a pronounced sense of space.

The title track, Plug And Delay and the brief Rainstick share the first side, while The Red Line occupies the reverse. Its extended, hazy groove is the centrepiece of a record that reveals the melodic character already present in Atobe's earliest work.
