About this release
The Blue Nile's 1984 debut A Walk Across The Rooftops pairs carefully spaced electronic arrangements with Paul Buchanan's expressive voice. Synthesizers, guitar and percussion form a vivid backdrop to songs that move between quiet reflection and the pulse of city life.
Tinseltown In The Rain and Stay provide the album's most immediate melodies, while Easter Parade and the title track show its quieter side. This seven-track LP is pressed on 180g vinyl and uses the 2019 remaster by Calum Malcolm, giving the album's detailed arrangements room to breathe.
