The Thugs - Mighty Tiger Dubs

Nicola Giunta, founder of Lay Llamas, returns as The Thugs with a nine-track journey through psychedelic dub. Written and produced by Giunta and performed with Andrea Davi, Mighty Tiger Dubs builds on the world of Holy Cobra Dub, setting roots influences alongside electro-dub, post-punk and experimental textures.

Drum machines provide the rhythmic foundation throughout, with improvised, wordless vocals drawing on Giunta’s experience performing with Can’s Damo Suzuki. The music follows a surreal island narrative through Kali worship, anaconda attacks and underground gatherings. Released by Aagoo Records, this LP offers dub with an imaginative, unsettled atmosphere and a direct electronic pulse.
