About this release
Trevor Dale’s Smiling / Summer 88 returns on Mono Horizon as a four-track 12-inch vinyl reissue. Originally released on Faze 1 FM in 1990, the title pairing captures the connection between early UK house, breakbeats and acid.
The record also brings together two tracks from Dale’s Torrington Foe project: Take Me Back, featuring Chicago vocalist Robert Owens, and the 1994 acid cut Morning Shuffle. Together, these recordings offer a snapshot of the house music emerging from London’s clubs in the early 1990s.
