Compiled by Joey Negro and Sean P, the first Disco Not Disco collection explores the less conventional records that crossed New York dancefloors in the early 1980s. Yoko Ono, Ian Dury and Liquid Liquid share space with Arthur Russell projects Loose Joints, Dinosaur and Indian Ocean, tracing connections between disco, post-punk and experimental music. The selection reflects the wide-ranging tastes associated with clubs such as the Paradise Garage and The Loft. This Strut triple LP restores the original artwork and Kris Needs' sleeve notes, with remastering and cutting by The Carvery. Eleven extended selections give the music room to unfold.
