About this release
Heavenly Ethiopiques presents twenty selections from the Éthiopiques series, chosen by its founder Francis Falceto. The compilation brings together Ethiopian singers and instrumentalists including Alemayehu Eshete, Mahmoud Ahmed, Mulatu Astatké, Girma Beyene and the Wallias Band. Vocal recordings sit alongside piano, saxophone and band pieces, showing how Ethiopian melodies connect with jazz, soul and funk across the collection. The programme offers several routes into the series rather than focusing on a single artist or style. Heavenly Sweetness presents the selection on double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, with artwork drawn from Falceto's collection of photographs, records and memorabilia.
Format: Double vinyl LP in gatefold sleeve
Label: Heavenly Sweetness
