Horse Meat Disco bring their love of Brazilian records to Mr Bongo with Disco & Boogie From Brazil Vol. 1. The sixteen-track compilation moves through disco, funk, samba and MPB, drawing on Luke Howard's years of record collecting and regular visits to Brazil. Contributions from fellow crew member James Hillard and Rio collector Tee Cardaci helped shape a selection that places familiar names alongside less widely heard artists.

Marcos Valle, Jorge Ben and Robson Jorge & Lincoln Olivetti share space with Zé Carlos' electronic boogie cut Venha (Remix) and two recordings from Luiza Maura's Deixa Girar single. Gretchen's Ela Tem Raça, Charme, Talento E Gostosura adds a Jorge Ben composition to the mix. Across two LPs, the collection follows the connections between Brazilian songwriting and the disco dancefloor.
