Yusuke Ogawa turns to the King Records archives for the second volume of WaJazz: Japanese Jazz Spectacle. The selection traces Japanese jazz recordings from 1962 to 1985, bringing together Toshiaki Yokota, Akira Miyazawa, Isao Suzuki, Masahiko Togashi and George Otsuka among its twelve tracks. Ogawa's track-by-track notes give the music further context, making this a useful route into the catalogue as well as a compilation to explore in its own right. Released by 180g in collaboration with HMV Record Shop and Universounds, this double LP comes in a reverse-board gatefold sleeve. All recordings are licensed from King Records in Tokyo.
