About this release
Andrew Wilson, also known as Andras, and John Tanner of Eleventeen Eston recorded II aboard a 1950s riverboat, using electronic instruments adapted to the conditions. The eight compositions move between calm, suspended melodies and more unsettled passages, drawing their imagery from maritime life and Port Phillip Bay. “My Gull” and “Loch And Key” introduce the setting before the extended “Killcord Pts I-III” pushes into Berlin-school electronics. “Idle” surveys the aftermath, with “Crossing The Bar” closing the journey. Released by Efficient Space, the album follows the duo’s debut 69 with a more changeable, immersive form of ambient music.
