About this release
Espion EP gathers DJ Mehdi’s early Espionnage work into an eleven-track record that connects French rap with instrumental beatmaking and electronic production. First issued in 2000, it pairs vocal collaborations with shorter pieces and remixes, reflecting the different strands of the producer’s label. Feadz appears on “We Are The Espionnage Sound System”, Rocé on “On S’habitue” and Dany Dan on the two “Pop Song” tracks. The second side includes Boombass’s remix of 113’s “Camille Groult Starr” and Mehdi’s remix of Manu Key’s “Si Tu Savais”. This Because Music repress comes on orange vinyl with a printed inner sleeve.
