About this release
Motion finds Brendon Moeller moving between several rhythmic approaches while keeping space and low-end detail at the centre of the record. The title track pairs distorted bass with minimal, clicking electronics, while Disko Inferno turns towards broken percussion. Habitual Ritual slows into a warmer, dub-inflected groove before Apparatus explores a deeper jungle rhythm on the reverse. Samurai Steps connects electronic experimentation with dub, and Meltdown closes the set with a more spacious atmosphere. Across the EP, Moeller's use of restraint links the contrasting tempos and textures without forcing them into a single form.
