About this release
Gary Martin revisits Pimping People In High Places through DET 313, bringing three versions of his Teknotika recording together on a twelve-inch. The Gigi Galaxy Mix occupies the first side, working through an insistent, looping rhythm. On the reverse, the Album Mix brings cut-up samples and eerie chord movement into focus, while the Woodward Ave Mix takes a deeper, more dub-influenced route through rough drums and smoky textures. Originally released in the early 2000s, the track reflects Martin's combination of Detroit techno rhythm and detailed, shifting arrangements. This reissue restores the three mixes in remastered form.
