Hi Tech Dreams brings together three contrasting productions from Mad Mike Banks on Underground Resistance. The title track sets hopeful synthesizer melodies against a skipping, funk-driven rhythm, while “Hold My Own” drops into a slower, heavier groove with guitar samples and spoken vocals. “Lo-Tech Reality” closes the record with a darker, more urgent electronic pulse. First issued in 2007, the EP connects Detroit’s technological promise with the social tensions behind it, reflecting UR’s concern with who shapes the city’s future. This twelve-inch presents the complete three-track programme, with “Hi-Tech Dreams” occupying the A-side.
