About this release
Heavy Metal is the debut solo album from Geese frontman Cameron Winter, moving towards a softer songwriting approach than the band's guitar-led sound. His lyrics combine surreal imagery, self-reflection and dark humour, with performances that shift between direct feeling and a more dreamlike atmosphere. The Rolling Stones opens a sequence that includes Nausicaä (Love Will Be Revealed), Love Takes Miles and Drinking Age, before the record moves through its more inward-looking second half. Winter's voice and imaginative writing hold the ten songs together. This Partisan edition is pressed on metallic silver vinyl.
