About this release
Horace Martin’s Me Rule pairs roots reggae vocals with a deep, steady rhythm. Panorama’s reissue places the song alongside Rule, the accompanying dub credited to Prince Huntly. On the reverse, the vocal arrangement gives way to a more open treatment of the rhythm, with echo, percussion and bass taking the foreground. The two sides offer the song and its stripped-back counterpart on a remastered seven-inch, keeping the focus on the relationship between Martin’s vocal and the underlying groove.
