About this release
Ilija Rudman joins Shir Khan’s Black Jukebox series with two tracks that move between deep house, disco and electro-funk. “Euphonia” places a climbing sawtooth bassline beneath bending synth melodies, with crisp drums giving the arrangement a restrained, shuffling feel. “Late Checkout” draws from a related palette of rich analogue pads, synth phrases and a quietly persistent bass groove. The two sides share a retro-futuristic character, linking the warmth of earlier disco production with more precise electronic detail. Rudman’s focus stays on the interaction between bass, drums and melodic lines, allowing the arrangements to develop without overwhelming their low-slung rhythmic foundations.
