About this release
AIR’s Jean-Benoît Dunckel and Jonathan Fitoussi continue their collaboration on Mirages II, moving between minimal electronic patterns and a more cinematic sound. The eight pieces follow their first duo album from 2019, with analogue synthesis and steady rhythmic movement at the centre. “Ghost Town” reflects the pulse of 1970s German electronic music, while “Spark” draws on the hypnotic quality of Detroit machines. Recorded at Studio Atlas in Paris, the album also features drummer Louis Delorme on six tracks. Alex Gopher mastered the recordings, and Xavier Veilhan’s artwork accompanies this Obliques vinyl LP, closing with “Autumnal Equinox”.
