About this release
Lovebirds returns to the Modern Stalking series with four tracks on Teardrop, following the first instalment from 2007. ‘The Sun’ opens with filtered disco strings, dubbed vocals and electronic detail, while ‘Run’ follows a more organic route through deep house and nu-disco. On the reverse, ‘Motion’ shifts towards a midtempo breakbeat disco groove, with spoken vocals and unusual textures, before ‘Reachin’ closes the record at a slower pace. The EP moves between club arrangements and more relaxed disco settings, using changes in rhythm and texture to give each of its four cuts a distinct character.
