About this release
Happy People brings together boogie, funk, disco and pop on Margino's six-track album. Recorded at RPM Recording Studios in Johannesburg in 1985, it features the South African singer Kim Kallie with rhythms played by Attie Van Wyk on keyboards, synthesizer and drum machine, and Danny Bridgens on guitar. You Turn Me On, You Need A Woman and You explore a slower side, while Happy People, I'm Getting Out and One Hot Night bring a more direct dancefloor feel. Jamwax's reissue is remastered from the original tape and presents new artwork inspired by the pop-art treatment of Marilyn Monroe.
