Mount Kimbie - MK 3.5: Die Cuts / City Planning

Mount Kimbie divide MK 3.5 between two individually produced albums: Dom Maker’s Die Cuts and Kai Campos’ City Planning. Maker draws on the collaborative world he developed in Los Angeles, moving between hip-hop, R&B and electronic pop with guests including James Blake, slowthai, Danny Brown, Kučka and Liv.e. Campos takes a more inward route through tactile electronic production and techno. Their contrasting approaches sit together as a double LP on Warp, giving each musician a complete record to develop his ideas. Across twenty-three tracks, the set maps the separate directions that had grown within the partnership.
